Facilitating Online

As I was prepping some material on del.icio.us this morning I ran across this page (del.icio.us is great for these "discoveries"):

http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Facilitating_Online

It's not 100% "done" yet, but it has a lot of interesting information, especially regarding the facilitation of online learning. As a Librarian creating online community and social communication channels via the tools we've been using in class, I think there's some great information to be culled from here.

Additionally, I'd love to hear from the online students in the room on what they think about the section on Responsibilities in Practice.

Please feel free to comment away or respond in your blogs :-)

I am at work and I just got out from a presentation about the next SirsiDynix “Symphony” client. The faculty and staff had many questions about all the upgrades that SirsiDnix adding to the new client such as social tagging and RSS feeds. Many of them did not like the idea without understanding the benefits for the users. I tried to explain how it works and the benefits that could be gained from that. I am really glad I am taking social software literacy class at this time. When I decided to take this class I did not think it will make much difference for me at work, but I see that it already did. I was sitting very comfortably during the presentation since I understood what was going on. I was not bored like usual by listening to information that I did not relate to like usual.
Thanks Steve.
