Student Page/Registration/Partners Comment...

I know I have a few early starters in class...my advice to all would be to let class "settle" a few days before hunting your partner...as add/drop and other oddities may change our order a bit.

READ ME FIRST!! Welcome to Class

Sorry 'bout the caps...needed to make sure you saw this message :-)

(yes you can use slang and smileys in this class)

Just wanted to greet everyone with a blog post that might address some FAQ type questions:

1. You can call me Steve. I don't mind Professor (I'm not a Dr.), but you're not obligated

2. If you need to reach me, email will be best for now - librarysteve@yahoo.com, but review the class b4 you send questions

3. A lot of the video sources that I have up will say "this "week" on...", welcome to summer where everything in condensed...week now mean "section" or "area"

4. Class generally runs Monday-Monday, then we start a new set of topics...I grade the previous week's homework on Monday/Tuesday

5. I'm going to do my best to have a real life on weekends, so you'll generally see me being more available during the week...as we go through the class we'll communicate in various ways...email, blog posts, twitter, IM, etc. expect to see me more active on weekdays

6. I'll expect you to work hard in this class...I'll expect this class will take a good amount of time per week...please don't think this is going to be easy because it's summer

7. Ask for help when you need it, help others when you can

Now that you're done reading this, please head back to russl.pbwiki.com and enjoy the Introduction Class (then head to IM and Blogging)

For you Summer Early Birds

I'm presently updating this wiki to represent what I'm going to cover this summer and how I'm going to cover it.

These changes will include the syllabus and all content areas.

If you're interested in purchasing the books or making sure you local library has the books, I will be using ALL the books listed on the syllabus...I'll just have you read a little less.

Just a note that this class will be fast paced, you'll be working with and depending on others (of my choosing) all the time and we will be covering a LOT of material. Note also that since this is a very short time period we will not cover everthing that is usually done in the regular semester.

If you have any questions you can email me at librarysteve@yahoo.com .

Whoo Hoo...Final projects to grade :-)

Just a reminder to make sure to have all your materials linked in some way from your page on the russl wiki...

I'll be grading 5.10 and 5.11 and I'll add my comments to the eCollege gradebook ... next week I'll be in California teaching some screencasting workshops, but feel free to email me if you have comments about my comments.

My thanks to all of you for a great semester. For the first time being taught online, this class went surprisingly smoothly...a testament to your dedication and flexibility.
